Dr. Frank Edwin

Dr. Frank Edwin graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1994 and completed cardiothoracic surgery residency at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana in 2004.

Dr. Edwin was appointed as a cardiothoracic surgeon to Ghana’s National Cardiothoracic Centre in 2004 where he has worked to date. He worked at Sunninghill’s Pediatric Cardiac Center for Africa in Johannesburg South Africa between 2009 and 2011.

Dr. Edwin is a member of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (EACTS), and the West African representative on the Governing Council of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS). He has presented scientific papers in several international conferences based on his research in pediatric and congenital heart surgery. He has co-authored a book chapter in Surgery and his research has been reported in several peer-reviewed scientific journals. He serves on the peer review panels of several academic journals. He is on the editorial committees of the Ghana Medical Journal, the Ghana Postgraduate Medical Journal, and the Pan African Medical Journal.
