I am currently Professor of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA performing exclusively pediatric heart surgery. Our program is one of the largest programs in the U.S. performing roughly 1000 cases/year. I am also Chief of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program. We have performed over 340 pediatric heart transplants since our program’s inception in 1988. I have also enjoyed a close collaboration with Professor Ajit Yoganathan from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Our work has focused on patient-specific computer modelling of congenital heart disease with surgical planning based on predicted optimal results.
