Dr. Mehmet Sertaç Çiçek

Dr. Sertaç Çiçek, received his medical degree from the GATA Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey and graduated summa cum laude in 1985.

After graduating medical school, he completed a five-year residency in Cardiovascular Surgery at GATA Faculty of Medicine, followed by one-year fellowship in Texas Heart Institute and a two-year fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.  He, then completed an extended pediatric cardiac surgery fellowship under Vaughn Starnes and Winfield Wells at CHLA-USC.  He returned to Turkey and established pediatric cardiac surgical units at Yeditepe University, Acibadem Hospital and SiyamiErsek Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training Hospital in Istanbul.

He currently is the director of Center for Heart and Vascular Care at Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul. Dr. Cicek is a fellow of American College of Cardiology and American College of Chest Physicians and member of AATS, EACTS, ASCVS and European Congenital Heart Surgeons Association. He serves in the councils of ASCVS, WSPCHS and Steering Committee of WCPCCS. He is professor of cardiovascular surgery.
